Large economic reliance on oil revenues has come under scrutiny in most petrol producing countries, including the Sultanate of Oman. The main catalysts for this have been completely the continuous decline of oil development, depletion of oil supplies, fluctuations in oil value and large rates of population development in many of the countries. The Omani government has initiated economic strategies with the aim of diversifying Oman's economy. In the absence of virtually any previous studies on this aspect of Oman's economic system, the aim of this research is to research the prospects to get the development of the ability economy and also to identify the key knowledge economic system factors for achieving lasting economic development in Oman. The analytical framework utilized consisted of three distinct levels. First, a benchmarking process was used for assessing Oman's readiness regarding the knowledge economic climate. This period revealed a decreased level of readiness in respect of the important thing knowledge economy pillars. Subsequently, interviews of nine relevant senior authorities officials resulted in the identification of five expertise economy motorists that could business lead Oman in to successfully building a knowledge overall economy. Finally, a non-parametric quantitative approach was used on a data set collected through a study targeting 310 major service companies in Oman.
